Position Descriptions & Application Forms

Experienced CNA/Caregiver

Responsible for the "Assisted Daily Living" duties and functions that allow the residents to be clean and comfortable. i.e. transferring, mobility, bathing, changing briefs, toileting, oral hygiene, grooming, dressing, etc.

Physically ensures the Residents get to appointments such as salons, transportation, activities and meals, including pushing wheel chairs, following closely behind walkers, keeping track of/responding to schedule.

Responsible for the Residents under their care & recording communications for co-workers, shift summaries, etc.

You must have/be able to:

  • Ability to communicate effectively in English both verbally and in writing.

Part-Time Activities Coordinator

Business Office Coordinator

General Summary: Full-time Business Office Coordinator to work with our Accounting Department and with the residents of our busy Jennings McCall retirement and assisted living center. This position will be responsible for the day to day bookkeeping matters of resident files, Medicaid processing, new resident agreements and resident inquiries.

Job Functions:

  • Greets and assists all Grand Lodge visitors. Answers phones, takes accurate messages and distributes to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
  • Process all bookkeeping, accounts receivable and accounts payable pertaining to resident and Jennings McCall (JMC) activities.
  • Prepare, review and explain Occupancy and Respite Agreements; collect, record and track rental deposits; calculate and collect rent and fees due.
  • Maintain positive relationships and frequently interact with JMC residents. Serve as liaison between residents and their financial services and healthcare providers as well as Social Security.
  • Coordinate Life Care program funds, process Social Security and pension payments, handle JMC Pharmacy payments, process Providence Healthcare premiums and claims, cash checks, and field questions..
  • Prepare bank deposits as needed for checks received from Jennings McCall residents and activities.  Prepare reconciliation report of cash funds received from Jennings McCall residents, cash boxes, and activities; give to accounting for final tabulation and deposit/recording.
  • Provide Lifeline Program. Create organizational materials, track new and canceled memberships, collect and refund deposits, bill monthly fees.
  • Handle clerical duties, which include heavy filing, incoming phone calls and messages, outgoing mail processing, and correspondence. Frequently transport mail, packages and supplies between buildings and run occasional car errands.
  • Perform other office and administrative duties as assigned by the Executive Director, JMC Administrator, or Grand Secretary.
  • Provide notary services to staff, residents, and family members as necessary.  Keep up with current regulations regarding notary services.

Specific Skills:

  • Excellent interpersonal and problem solving skills. Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of principles and practices of bookkeeping, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
  • Previous experience with Sage or equivalent accounting software.
  • Demonstrated computer skills with proficiency in spreadsheet and word processing programs. 
  • Demonstrated proficiency in math and operating a 10 key/calculator.
  • Ability to assist with budget development as requested.
  • Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work activities.
  • Sensitivity in interactions with an aging population. Ability to cope with loss.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and work under a variety of situations in a positive constructive manner.
  • Demonstrated ability to be organized, well prepared, set and meet deadlines, stay on task and avoid distractions.

Education and/or Experience::

  • Associates degree or higher preferred, high school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Demonstrated combination of experience and or training to perform accounting duties effectively and accurately
  • Valid Oregon drivers license
  • Continuing education as requested by the Executive Director
  • If not current, Notary Public certification will be necessary.

Day Janitor

General Summary: To maintain a high quality of cleanliness throughout the Jennings McCall  Center with special emphasis on common areas. To be available for special projects such as cleaning before or after banquets or other irregularly scheduled events and entertainment.

Job Functions:

  • To perform all duties in a patient, pleasant, efficient manner.
  • To comply with the janitorial dress code.
  • To comply with the Resident’s Rights.
  • To be punctual, clocked in and ready to work at assigned times.
  • Be knowledgeable of, and practice at all times, all policies and procedures including fire and life safety.
  • To participate in all on-site programs or training as applicable.
  • To be available as needed for overtime, when approved.
  • Available to cover NOC Janitors vacation.
  • Need to know how to use carpet cleaning machine properly.

Qualifications:

  • Sufficient communication & language skills to enable performance of duties and to interact with residents and other staff.
  • Sufficient physical strength, understanding and coordination to work with cleaning chemicals, and cleaning equipment in a safe manner.
  • A desire to work around, and an appreciation of, Senior Citizens.
  • Ability to work in an organized, timely fashion.
  • Ability to work alone or closely with others as a team.
